September 2022 meeting of Cumbria County Coucil
Cumbria County Council will meet tomorrow (Wednesday 7th September) at 10am in the Council Chamber at County Hall, Kendal. The meeting will be open to the public, or at least to those who will not be at work but can afford to travel to County Hall and back.
Anyone who is travelling to the meeting should allow extra time as the meeting clashes with the Westmorland County Show in Kendal on 7th and 8th September. The council normally has its' meetings on Thursdays, this one was brought forward to Wednesday to avoid a clash with the show but the people who did that had not appreciated that the show is now a two-day event.
In the ordinary course of events I would be asking if next time we could just have the council meeting and the show in different weeks but as the county council will no longer exist at the time of the next Westmorland County Show that will be an issue for the successor authority.
The main items on the agenda are the Youth Justice Plan for 2022/23, and to roll forward the Council's Integrated Risk Management Plan (IRMP) for the Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service for an additional twelve months to fill in the gap before the service moves to being the responsibility of Cumbria's Police and Crime Commissioner, Peter McCall, who will become the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner.
