I arrived early in Keswick where I met officials from the Environment Agency. Although the river levels had fallen considerably and homes were no longer flooded, the damage to homes had been done. And the water which had got into houses wasn’t just from the river – it was foul water which had risen from the drains. I talked to fire crews who were pumping flood water back into the river, and discovered that they were from Tyne & Wear and Lancashire. There was a lot of "togetherness" in it, but who is together I wonder?
It was sort of ish about something about something his party is willing to "offer" the electorate, on a take it or if we get in we will take it from you anyway, sort of thing. No mention of "what would you like us to do on your behalf, since that is what you would be electing us on"
Even the audience did not seem to "wake up" until he mentioned the NHS, but then he was going to "improve" it - forgetting his party kind of runined it to start with, and the fact there is no money to pay for it. Not a word on deficit reduction.
