Protecting Britain's heritage
Yesterday the government announced a lifesaving £103 million financial boost for 445 heritage organisations across the country, helping to protect our history, save jobs and prepare for a cultural bounceback.
- As a nation we should be proud of our heritage, and so it is vital that we keep our best-loved historical sites thriving so they can be enjoyed by generations to come after coronavirus.
- That is why, as part of our £1.57 billion Culture Recovery Fund, the government is delivering a £103 million financial boost for 445 heritage organisations across the country, helping them to restart vital repair and maintenance work to keep their venues open, saving save jobs and livelihoods.
- This funding will be a lifeline to many heritage organisations, ensuring they can carry on delivering their vital work so we can preserve our heritage, and celebrate and learn from our past.
