Nick Herbert on his visit to flood hit areas of Cumbria
Please note that the post below was published more than ten year ago on 21st November 2009 Nick Herbert MP, shadow cabinet member for the Environment, Food, and Rural Affairs, was in Cumbria this morning to see the areas affected by the flooding. He writes on Conservative Home about his visit. Here is an extract. I’ve been in Cumbria today to see the areas affected by the floods. I arrived early in Keswick where I met officials from the Environment Agency. Although the river levels had fallen considerably and homes were no longer flooded, the damage to homes had been done. How dare the conservatives and their two faced lies threaten our future. We know exactly what you've been up to. WHILE WE have been fighting for the hospital YOU have been running around with idiots plotting to destroy our area. You wouldent come to our meetings WOULDENT COME councillors were invted many times. When you did not come we were shown why. Now we know you would rather serve the stakeholders of companies than your very own citizens who guard the hospital. Citizenship is a two way process.
If you also lack the intellectual capacity to write a short paragraph without making several basic spelling and grammatical errors, and repeat those errors when posting the same rubbish multiple times, it looks even worse.
I have left one link to the silly page about the so-called "bedroom tax" up and deleted the rest. But I am leaving all five copies of the childish rant which begins with the words "The Conservative Party in Copeland" up to provide proof of quite how stupid some Labour voters are.
Only a semi-literate, intellectually inadequate troll, which is what Mr or Ms "Vote Labour" obviously is, could have posted such rubbish.
Incidentally I have been fighting for West Cumberland Hospital for more than a decade, and have attended many meetings, marches and rallies on the subject. On one occasion when I had been invited by the head of the "Save our Services" campaign I did indeed come but was refused entry by a Labour party official as part of some a childish sectarian game.
