Hermitage Ensemble Concert at St James' Whitehaven cancelled this evening

CONCERT CANCELLED THIS EVENING

There had been due to be a concert at 7pm this evening (Sunday 2nd April 2017) in which the Hermitage Ensemble from St Petersburg were due to perform Russian sacred hymns and folk songs at St James' Church, Whitehaven
The Hermitage Ensemble have been on a UK tour, and many people were looking forward to hearing them sing like "a slavic barber shop one minute and the massed ranks of the Red Army the next.'' to quote a description in the Whitehaven news.

Unfortunately five members of the ensemble were found to have vanished from their hotel rooms in Yorkshire within the last 48 hours.

The Church heard yesterday that in consequence the event will have to be cancelled and have been desperately trying to contact all those who were due to attend.
