Coronavirus diary, day 84
Another cooler day, though far from cold.
Lots of interesting news.
A nice gesture for President Macron to hail London as a "city of wartime hope" and to award the city France’s highest distinction – the Legion d’Honneur.
Some real challenges ahead sorting out the economy.
I would be worried sick about the deficit the government is racking up as a result of the pandemic in more normal times, but if they don't spend the money supporting the NHS lots more people will die, which would also damage the economy even more badly than the debt burden will, and if the government failed to prop up people and businesses to help them get through the impact of the pandemic, we will not have an economy to be worried about.
Keep well,
