Trade negotiations

On Wednesday of this week the Government kickstarted trade negotiations with Australia and New Zealand, strengthening our economic ties with some of our deepest and strongest allies around the world.
  • Now that Britain has again become an independent trading nation, we have the historic opportunity to strike new trade deals and strengthen economic ties with our long-standing allies. Whether you voted Leave or remain, now that we have actually left the EU it would be foolish not to make use of the extra freedom of action this gives us.

  • Australia and New Zealand are already important economic, diplomatic and strategic partners for us – and securing new free agreements with them will open up more markets for UK businesses, creating new jobs and boosting our economy.

  • This will help to deliver more opportunities for businesses and individuals across every part of our United Kingdom – so we can level up and rebuild our economy as we recover from coronavirus.
