Quote of the day 1st June 2015

The Labour Party is ‘travelling in strange country, exposed to climatic rigours it had not anticipated and against which its traditional equipment gave little protection’.

(Richard Crossman 1952)

"It is a damning indictment of Labour’s comfort zone tendency that Richard Crossman’s" [comment above] "would make a good summary of the party’s current situation."

(Alex Cross, article on Labour Uncut site, May 2015)

The time for party politics is over. Like it or not..... its done.

Now, your game is dry, its a done deal the referendum is calling, it was fine to keep your powder dry until this point, but now you have to declare.

You either want a supranational government or you do not, no ifs and buts about t's and C's will change that, You either do want a supranational government or you don't want one.

that is all there is to it.

I cannot see party politics ending any time soon, but party politics will not determine how people vote in the EU membership referendum - the Conservative party will have to have a free vote or it will be torn apart. I suspect Labour might do the same.
