Michael Winstanley adopted as Conservative candidate for Makerfield

I see that my friend Michael Winstanley, a former Mayor of Wigan who was my immediate predecessor as Chairman of the Conservative Party in the North West, has been adopted as the Conservative candidate in Makerfield.

Michael is a really nice guy, a loyal friend, a man of great integrity, and would be an excellent MP for Makerfield,

I have a feeling Rebecca Shephard will do rather well in Makerfield. I think she can realistically win it. Theres an unexpected life saver for Starmer isnt it.

We shall see.

I am obviously biased as I am backing Michael Winstanley not just because he is the Conservative candidate but because he is a good friend and a good man who I know has worked hard for the local area.

Whatever happens the people of the Makerfield constituency deserve someone who knows and has worked hard for their corner of Wigan, not just someone who is using the seat as a stepping stone to becoming PM.
