Quote of the day 3rd May 2015
“I think it’s a measure of his desperation, isn’t it, that yesterday we had one of the most absurd political spectacles that this country has ever seen. Not since the Tsar and Tsarina prostrated themselves and asked for economic guidance from Grigori Rasputin, has there been such a ridiculous political pilgrimages as the mission of Ed Miliband – the heir of Keir Hardie for heavens sake – to seek economic guidance from Russell Brand.”

Though the comment that its very very difficult to satirize such a stupid idea is common too.
As everyone with a fully functioning brain understands - sadly this does not include Mr or Ms "Vote Labour" - there is no tax on bedrooms in this country.
This term was invented by Labour spinners because it sounds more sinister than what actually happened, which was an attempt to relate housing benefit more closely to the accommodation needs of particular families.
They have also tried to scare people by falsely suggesting that all elderly or disabled people, or armed services members, will be affected, when this is not correct. Pensioners are not affected by the housing benefit changes and there are measures to protect both disabled people and service personnel.
Not so sure on the best way to implement that though, perhaps something along the lines of "there is thia 1 or 2 bed House/FLat available for you and you can claim the rent on your housing benefit. stay where you are now and you can't claim at all"
in other words you can only claim housing benefit on suitable accommodation, unless there is no suitably sized accommodation available, so you can temporarily claim for a larger property until something more suitable is available.
I am quite attached to the idea of replacing many existing taxes with a tax on the undeveloped value of land.
leaving the same comment on 5 threads was more than a little telling. Also if they had been here a while they would have known that a member of the public has had to act as your main "opposition" over the last term as the official opposition party, the one they are so fond of, were too weak to even do that properly.
I thought the best bit was when they broke from the normal post to counter your point of view by telling you that you have big ears.
yup, that convinces me to vote labour........
