Sunday music spot: Adagio in G Minor (Supposedly Albinoni, reconstructed by Giazotto)

In one of the most tremendous ironies of musical history, this beautiful piece of music has become the best known work associated with the 18th century composer Tomaso Albinoni.

He did write a few bars of it. His 20th century biographer Remo Giazotto found a few fragments by Albinoni, and decided to try to reconstruct the whole piece that those fragments would have been part of. This is the result.

Heaven only knows whether it bears much resemblance to whatever Albinoni actually wrote or would have written. But I love listening to this.

And by the way, we still need maternity services at WCH so #SupportOption1
