Let's do the Time Warp Again

Since Back To the Future Day a fortnight ago I have been struck by how many linkages there are between this year and previous decades.

Over the Pond a Bush and Clinton are both running for President of the United States.

On the big screen, we have recently had the release of a Terminator film and a Jurassic Park film and there is about to be another Star Wars film released.

On the small screen, Doctor Who has brought back the classic cliffhanger endings the series used to do so often in the '70s and '80s but which the 21st century seasons had not used up to now. (Three weeks ago the first half of a two-parter ended with the appearance of the Doctor's ghost, apparently indicating that he had been killed, and on Saturday the first half of another two-parter ended with a Surface to Air missile being fired at the Doctor's plane.)

Another series in the Star Trek Universe is on the way, the sixth not counting films or cartoons, which will broadcast a little over fifty years after the premier of the original series.

And Labour has a leader who hasn't changed his mind on anything important since the 70's (and was wrong on most things then.)

They say the old ones are the best ones - sometimes perhaps but not in Jeremy Corbyn's case.

Let's do the Time Warp again!
