He writes on Conservative Home about his visit. Here is an extract. I’ve been in Cumbria today to see the areas affected by the floods. I arrived early in Keswick where I met officials from the Environment Agency. Although the river levels had fallen considerably and homes were no longer flooded, the damage to homes had been done. And the water which had got into houses wasn’t just from the river – it was foul water which had risen from the drains. I talked to fire crews who were pumping flood water back into the river, and discovered that they were from Tyne & Wear and Lancashire. Lets be clear on this, In 2008 then sellafield staff were told that final salary public sector pensions were not an option. We were offered the PRIVATE SECTOR CNPP final salary OR the Career average one.
new starters could only have the Career average private sector one.
In other words the Sellafield pensions were taken out of the Public sector back in 2008, and that is exactly what happened, so please can you expain why Sellafield pensions which again are part of a private sector trustee fund need to be "reformed" by the government.
You stated in an earlier post "we have the best expertese at nuclear waste there is" well carry on this way and perhaps that true statement could be short lived.
