Forty criticisms and answers

The Spectator published a list of 40 criticism of the May deal, and the also republished this together with the replies given by Number 10, which you can find here.

They have also published a list of responses to the responses. I don't know if the government is going to come back with responses to the responses to the responses …

Also in the Spectator, a piece by Freddie Sayers who is a former editor of the pollster YouGov's site who argues that the deal may be a lot more popular with voters than it currently appears. He suggests that it could probably win a two-stage referendum, if another one were called offering a choice between Remain, the deal, and a no-deal Brexit.

I don't think another referendum will be called: it is a workable option for a long list of reasons, starting with the fact that in sheer practical terms there is no longer time to do it and still have time to implement whatever the result was by late March when we are due to leave the EU.

You can read Freddie Sayers' article here.
