Saving music venues

On Saturday the government announced that around 150 grassroots music venues would be saved from insolvency as part of our £1.57 billion cultural recovery package, helping to protect our precious culture, arts and heritage for future generations.
  • Grassroots music venues perform a vital role in the UK’s music scene. Nearly all of our globally successful musicians started out at UK clubs and live music venues - and we must ensure they can weather the coronavirus storm.

  • That is why we are delivering £2.25 million of emergency funding to support venues that are at imminent risk of collapse, which will provide grants of up to £80,000 to help around 150 venues survive the crucial next few months.

  • Alongside the rest of our unprecedented £1.57 billion cultural recovery package, this extra funding will ensure that our vital cultural sector can survive the impact of the coronavirus pandemic.
