South Yorkshire to become the UK's first Investment Zone
The government has announced that South Yorkshire will become the UK’s first Investment Zone, creating up to 8,000 jobs and boosting investment as we work to grow the economy.
- We are determined to deliver on the Prime Minister’s pledge of growing the economy, which means we must bring investment and create jobs across all of the UK.
- That is why the government announced this week that South Yorkshire will become the UK’s first Investment Zone, bringing industry and universities together to collaborate on innovative research projects, backed by more than £80 million of private investment from companies such as Boeing and helping to create more than 8,000 jobs by 2030.
- This will help level up the region, creating jobs for local workers as we deliver on our pledge to grow the economy.
