Legal aid during the pandemic

The government has announced a £5.4 million funding boost for Law Centres across England and Wales to ensure people impacted by the coronavirus who require legal advice can get the support they need.
  • The government aims to ensure that support schemes protect as many people as possible – however there are people who find themselves in need of additional support as a direct result of the Covid-19 pandemic.

  • This additional support will ensure that people who need legal aid to address housing, debt, discrimination and employment problems will get it, with funding being delivered directly to not for profit organisations and Law Centres across England and Wales - helping them continue to provide vital legal advice throughout this pandemic.

  • Law Centres across England and Wales are continuing to play a critical role during this pandemic; this extra funding will help them to continue to deliver legal support to those who need it most.
