Tracking the virus

The UK government has launched a new major long-term study which will help track the spread of coronavirus – to help us safely move towards a return to our much-missed normality.

  • As Britain moves along a safe path back towards a return to normal life it is essential, we continue to learn about the virus.

  • This new study lasting six months, will enlist the help of up to 20,000 people across England, Scotland and Wales. The study will help us further our knowledge of the proportion of the population who have already had the infection, the duration of immunity and why the virus affects people differently.

  • This study will help ensure that as Britain slowly moves towards a return to normal life, we are continuing to follow the best scientific advice and only take further action when is safe to do so.
