Lockdown diary, day 44
Everyone in the street at their front door at 8pm today to "clap for carers."
Great to see the community still coming together to support those who risk their lives on our behalf.
Another event taking place tomorrow in a virtual manner rather than with the physical street parties and processions which had been planned. and such a shame: the VE day 75th anniversary.
As the Chief of the General Staff tweeted today,
"Although we can’t all come together on #VEDay75 we are reminded of the indomitable qualities of the wartime generation.
So I want to raise a glass to the class of ’45 and hope that our generation can live up to your extraordinary example. Thank you. #ThisIsYourVictory #Veterans"
He is so right.
Keep well.
