Protecting Britain's heritage
Yesterday the government announced a lifesaving £103 million financial boost for 445 heritage organisations across the country, helping to protect our history, save jobs and prepare for a cultural bounceback.
As a nation we should be proud of our heritage, and so it is vital that we keep our best-loved historical sites thriving so they can be enjoyed by generations to come after coronavirus.
That is why, as part of our £1.57 billion Culture Recovery Fund, the government is delivering a £103 million financial boost for 445 heritage organisations across the country, helping them to restart vital repair and maintenance work to keep their venues open, saving save jobs and livelihoods.
This funding will be a lifeline to many heritage organisations, ensuring they can carry on delivering their vital work so we can preserve our heritage, and celebrate and learn from our past.
