Test and Trace

Figures released yesterday show how the new Test and Trace service is helping us tackle coronavirus.
  • Test and trade is a new service on a scale never seen before – but it has already helped thousands of people book a test, isolate and share their recent close contacts.

  • Statistics for the first week of the programme were released yesterday, showing that 67 per cent of the people who tested positive for coronavirus and were passed for contact tracing have shared their close, recent contacts, while 85 per cent of the close contacts reached confirmed they would self-isolate as a result.

  • If you experience a new cough, temperature or loss of taste or smell, you must get tested, self-isolate, and if you test positive, be prepared to share details of your contacts with the Test and Trace team.
