I remember the Falkland Islands quite fondly, only done one tour down there for 4 months at HMS Bush Rincon, the transmitter site. its about 10 miles up Stanley road from MPA. It can be very bleak, but it really is a fascinating place.

I've not had the opportunity to visit the islands myself, but by all accounts what you say is absolutely right, Jim.
