New digital trade deal between Britain and Ukraine
Today Britain and Ukraine agreed a new digital trade deal, providing much-needed support for the Ukrainian economy and laying the foundations for its recovery and revival.
- Russian damage to Ukrainian infrastructure makes it much harder to physically trade. Digital tools and technologies will help Ukrainians access everyday vital goods and services during the war.
- That is why the two governments have announced Britain's second ever digital trade agreement, Ukraine’s first, following our decision to remove tariffs on goods from Ukraine under the UK-Ukraine Free Trade Agreement. This new deal will help Ukraine trade more efficiently and cheaply with the UK through electronic transactions, e-signatures, and e-contracts.
- We are making sure our businesses and governments can collaborate so that Ukrainians have access to essential goods and services – by opening up digital trade we are protecting Ukrainian jobs, livelihoods and families now and in the future.
