- Addressing the Chartered Institute of Housing, the Prime Minister confirmed plans to end so-called ‘no-fault’ evictions, stopping landlords evicting tenants at short notice.
- She also spoke about the need for new regulations to mandate developers to build higher-quality housing, ending the postcode lottery which sees different rules apply in different parts of the country.
- The government has already capped rent deposits and abolished letting fees, taken 80 per cent of first-time buyers out of Stamp Duty and increased the number of affordable housing starts to nearly 54,000 this year.
