Polls are now open for the Peterborough by-election
Voters have called a by-election in Peterborough today in Britain's first ever recall election, having voted to dismiss their former Labour MP via Britain's after she was sent to prison on being convicted of conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.
The Conservative candidate is local man Paul Bristow, who is the son of a local NHS nurse and an army officer. Paul got his first job in Peterborough and lives in the city centre.
Paul is a great candidate with the best local action plan and is committed to making sure that the vote which was cast by residents of Peterborough residents in the Referendum is respected and implemented.
The Labour candidate in the by-election was found to have "liked" anti-Semitic social media posts.
Marie van der Zyl, President of the Board of Deputies of British Jews, Simon Johnson, Chief Executive of the Jewish Leadership Council and David Delew, Chief Executive of the Community Security Trust, called on Labour to disown their candidate in the by-election in a joint statement which you can read by clicking on this link.
Polls are open until 10pm this evening.
