Special review of Mental Health services

Following the tragic murders in Nottingham last year, the government has ordered a special review of mental health services at the NHS trust where Valdo Calocane was treated, providing the families with some much-needed answers and ensuring our services are keeping the public safe.

  • I am sure that all our thoughts remain with the families and friends of the three people who lost their lives in the cruel and barbaric attack in Nottingham last year. It is essential that our mental health services ensure both the care of patients and the safety of the public, and that is why we have ordered a special review into Nottinghamshire Healthcare Foundation Trust, where Valdo Calocane was treated for paranoid schizophrenia.
  • We hope this will provide further answers for the families affected by the horrendous killings, as well as help the Trust to improve the standard of mental health care in Nottinghamshire, protecting both patients and the public so similar tragic events cannot happen again.
