Government to look again at disability benefits
Notwithstanding the points in my post yesterday about the language which was being used in the discussion about disability payments, every one of which I absolutely still stand by ...
it is important that the government should listen to the points being made about how any changes in this area will affect some of the most vulnerable people in our society.
The government has been listening, and in the last hour or so has announced the decision to take the proposals for change on disabled benefits back and review them to "listen to ideas on how we make sure the money goes to the right people" and make sure "what will be an increasing amount of money goes to those who need it most.
Here is a statement which Sam Coates at The Times says the government has issued.
