Yvette Cooper's "Have You Taken Your Refugee In Yet?" car crash





During last year's Labour Leadership election Yvette Cooper said Britain should take more Syrian refugees than the government was proposing and that she would be willing to provide accommodation to a Syrian refugee herself.

Yvette Cooper: We’ve all got to do our bit to offer sanctuary…
Nick Ferrari: Have you offered sanctuary? Have you taken your refugee in yet?
YC: Well I think we should be offering sanctuary and…
NF: But have you taken yours yet?
YC: Yeah but, I don’t think, this isn’t about, because actually, the people I, we’ve said from the start, look, if people need homes then we should be offering them…
NF: Yes, but have you taken yours in yet?
YC: But, if you listen to what the government said, they said no, they don’t want people to take people into their homes…
NF: Have you taken yours yet, Yvette?
YC: No, and that’s what I’ve said, because the government has said…
NF: So you haven’t taken yours because of what the government has said?
YC: Yeah, the government’s said that’s not what we’re looking for.
NF: (Laughs) So because David Cameron says not to do it, you’re not doing it?
YC: Yeah, but, the government…
 
Particularly priceless that an opposition spokesman said that she has not done what she originally promised to do because the government whose position she had been criticising says they are not asking people to help in this particular way ...

Strange one that, the current government want me to vote to remain in the EU.

Im not sure how to put it, NO, Not at all, Not ever, Nope, On No Account, Certainly not, Definitely not, By no means, No way, Rejection, Refusal, Rebuff, Veto, Denied, Negative, Not a blooming change pal, Who are you kidding?, What you been smoking?, Never, Its not going to happen.

So her position is, well lets just say rather strange

Quote of the day 24th July 2020

I was moved to put the passage below forward as a quote today when I saw a horrible post on twitter from someone writing that it was "excellent" that someone who took a different view from her about Brexit had died. I won't write which way round it was so that all the Remain supporters can assume the post was from a Brexit fanatic welcoming the death of a remainer and all the Leavers can assume it was a Remainiac welcoming one less Brexiteer.
