If I were on holiday with lots of spare time and therefore in absolutely no hurry, and wanted to take a journey with a really beautiful set of views the coastal railways in Cumbria do have something to comment them.

If you are in anything resembling a hurry, less so.

perhaps there is a case for the coastal track on the steam trains you see from time to time, very nice enjoyable and relaxing trip with some really nice scenery. But for use as a viable transportation system with the rolling stock that usually runs on them (often a commuter train stopping at sellafield pulling up with only a single carriage) then it kind of loses its appeal.
