The new term for a wipe-out: "Temporary glitch"
Nick Smith, chairman of UKIP in Lincolnshire, says "we're not going away" despite his party losing all 13 seats it previously held on Lincolnshire County Council.
Mr Smith, who is standing for UKIP in Lincoln in the 8 June general election, concedes: "This is a temporary glitch for us."
I am willing to be corrected if this is not right, but I think I am right in saying that as of 3.30am this morning UKIP have lost every single one one of the 37 council seats they were defending yesterday anywhere in the country which had by that time been declared.
