Matt Hancock's resignation statement

Sounds insincere AND should have jumped 24 hours earlier or been sacked 23 hours earlier.

His resignation statement explains in clear and simple words of one syllable why he had to resign. And does so correctly which is why I posted it.

You will not find too many cases of a resignation statement by any politician anywhere which sounds less insincere - and the ones you do find which past that test will not be ones where someone resigns because they have got something wrong, they will be the speeches where someone walks because they strongly disagree with something and is explaining why.
