In the past week it has been announced that more than 5,000 public buildings have been plugged into high-speed broadband, levelling up public services across the UK.
- Fast and reliable broadband is vital to households, businesses and the public services we rely on every day.
- That is why the Conservative government has connected more than 5,000 public buildings to high-speed broadband, with 1,200 schools, 340 libraries and 50 hospitals among those connected. Additionally, the Government is calling on companies to submit bids to connect 190,000 hard-to-reach premises in Norfolk, Suffolk and Cornwall as part of our £5 billion Project Gigabit.
- Project Gigabit will deliver a £60 billion boost to productivity and our drive to connect public buildings is making sure people can access better quality public services.
