The Natural Environment Readiness Fund

This week the government announced that 50 projects will receive up to £100,000 through the £10m Natural Environment Investment Readiness Fund, to drive private investment in nature and tackling climate change.

  • The Natural Environment Readiness Investment Fund will provide grants of up to £100,000 for local community groups and organisations to develop nature projects to a point where they can attract private investment.
  • This announcement will create a pipeline of projects that can be scaled and replicated, attracting more money to protect and restore the environment.
  • The projects will create new woodland, deliver natural flood risk management, enhance habitats and improve water quality, amongst other benefits.
