Dealing with the menace of inflation
New figures released this morning show the rate of inflation has decreased, but it is still far too high. The government must continue to make it a priority to halve inflation this year to ease the cost of living and give people financial security.
- Inflation is the number one enemy – the tax that eats away at people’s pay packets and savings and increases day-to-day costs.
- That is why the Conservative government is committed to halving it by the end of the year, alongside growing the economy and reducing debt. New figures released this morning show inflation has reduced by 0.3 per cent between February and March 2023.
- There is still a long way to go, but we will continue to deliver on our promise to halve inflation, grow the economy and reduce debt to improve the living standards of everyone.
