The new G7 Nuclear Fuel agreement
Yesterday Britain signed a new nuclear fuel agreement with our G7 allies, boosting domestic energy security to bring down electricity bills and helping deliver on our promise to halve inflation.
- Nuclear power stations provide up to 15 per cent of the UK’s electricity supply – we are committed to accelerating nuclear power even further whilst removing Russia from our international supply chains.
- That is why the UK has signed a new agreement with G7 allies at the Nuclear Energy Forum yesterday, ensuring the secure supply of uranium fuel through reliable international supply chains to boost domestic energy security, cut electricity bills, and isolate Putin’s Russia.
- This will help to push Putin out of the nuclear fuel market entirely and strengthen our domestic energy security to bring down bills and create new jobs across the country.
