Sunday reflection spot
From the sermon preached this morning at St James' Whitehaven by the new rector, the Reverend Robert Jackson:
There was an experienced barber, who had been practicing in a small town for a long time. Then a new rival salon opened, and they undercut him, charging only £3 for a haircut. Suddenly all his business disappeared and he wondered whether he would have to close down.
But he asked a business analyst for advice. The man said, "Don't give up just yet, I will have a think and I will come back to you tomorrow with a suggestion."
The following day the analyst was back with a big sign which he put up outside the barber's premises. It read
"WE FIX £3 HAIRCUTS."
