A message to the electors of Egremont North and St Bees:thanks for your support

A huge thank you to everyone in the Egremont North and St Bees division who voted for me yesterday.

As your county councillor I will do my best to work for all the residents of Bigrigg, Mirehouse West, Moor Row, St Bees, Rottington, Wood End and all the rest of the division.

I found it histerical in my last 5 or 6 months at Mirehouse, to learn that Mirehouse isnt actually in Mirehouse, its in Egremont, but Egremont isnt.

These days its easier, im in Mossbay and Moorclose (even though I am not quite, but its close enough) and I have my bin emptied weekly, which is nice.

Depends which side of the railway line you are on.

That part of Mirehouse which is east of the railway line is in Mike Hawkins's Mirehouse county division.

However, as you rightly say, Mirehouse West (of the railway line) is indeed in the "Egremont North and St Bees" division for which I was elected on Thursday as county councillor.

And which does not include any of the settlement of Egremont.

Though it does include all the (quite substantial) area which is left of the "Egremont North" CBC ward if you remove everything in Egremont proper.

And which is in Egremont in the sense that it forms part of the area represented by Egremont Town Council.

Perfectly designed to leave people thoroughly confused!
