Evidence on vaccine effectiveness
As Britain's historic vaccine programme continues to move forward, new evidence from Public Health England has shown that vaccines are highly effective at protecting people against the variant of Covid-19 first identified in India.
- Getting vaccinated is the most important step we can take to protect ourselves, our families and our communities against Covid-19.
- That is why the NHS, the goernment and all reputable medical experts are urging everyone to answer the call and book their jabs when offered – recognising the brilliant work being done by the scientists who have shown that vaccines are highly effective against the Covid-19 variant first identified in India.
- Britain's vaccine programme is at the forefront of our fight against Covid-19 but the work is not done yet and we urge everyone to get both their jabs as soon as they are offered.
- A very small number of people cannot or should not take the jabs on medical grounds. If you think that you or a member of your family might be one of them, of have any other concerns, discuss it with your GP practice or another appropriately qualified medical practitioner.
