Investing in Britain's natural environment
Today the government has announced a new £10 million fund to drive private investment in our natural environment and help tackle climate change.
Through this landmark Natural Environment Investment Readiness Fund, the government will support 27 projects across England that will enhance nature and have the potential to generate revenue from the benefits our natural environment provides.
Backed by a grant of up to £100,000 each, these projects will focus on tackling change and restoration from woodland and habitat creation to sustainable drainage.
This measure is for England: but the Barnett formula will provide an opportunity for the devolved administrations to fund similar measures should they so wish.
