I wonder how someone in the UK would withdraw their consent to be governed? As far as i can see the only option would be to become "stateless", im not sure where you could move to either.

It's very sad that, as Johnson destroys the party you love (and continues to preside over a chaotic, rudderless government), an anodyne, deniable criticism like this is all you can muster. Your loyalty seems to have largely stripped away your critical faculties, Chris. How did it come to this?

That's a very good question. I don't see an obvious answer.

Though in practice, if the people of a country are not happy with the way they are governed it will create all manner of difficulties for that government - and the more sophisticated the society, the more it needs full co-operation rather than just acquiescence.

The catch is that if people are not providing that co-operation it is society as a whole, not just the government, which will often suffer, at least in the short term.
