Music for Saturday 4th April Ave Verum Corpus (Mozart and Byrd)

There are very few composers who ever lived who could go "head to head" with Mozart in the sense of having written an equally beautiful setting of the same words, especially where the Mozart piece concerned was one of his masterpieces like "Ave Verum Corpus.

But English composer William Byrd had written a haunting setting of the same words a couple of centuries earlier, performed here by the King's Singers and which in my humble opinion bears comparison with Mozart's.
