Help for rough sleepers
This week the government announced announced a £174 million funding boost to provide homes for 2,900 rough sleepers, helping people rebuild their lives and getting us closer to the point where we can end rough sleeping for good.
- One person sleeping rough on our streets is one too many, and more is needed to help people who find themselves in this terrible situation.
- That is why councils will receive a £174 million funding boost as part of our Rough Sleeping Accommodation Programme, creating over 2,900 move-on homes which will be provided with specially-trained support workers, offering treatment for mental health issues and substance misuse to help rough sleepers remain in their tenancies and into employment or training.
- The Conservative government is determined to end rough sleeping for good, helping the most vulnerable rebuild their lives and making sure that no one is forced to spend a night on the streets.
