Where should be the home of the railway?

This weekend the government has launched a nationwide competition to find the new home of Great British Railways – delivering on the Conservative commitment to spread opportunity and level up communities across the UK.

  • The railway was a British invention which transformed the world. Britain's railways have kept this country moving for almost two hundred years, but it is time to kickstart a new age that will shape our network for the next two hundred.
  • That is why the government has launched a nationwide competition to find the new headquarters of Great British Railways, based outside of London, which will bring a number of high-skilled jobs to the winning location.
  • Communities across the country are urged to make the case for why the true home of the railways is on your doorstep.

I think the home of the railway should be the Isle of Wight.
