Connecting people to Gigabit Broadband
The government announced that 70 per cent of homes and businesses are now able to access gigabit-capable broadband as Project Gigabit enters a new phase – helping over 20 million households and businesses to access lightning-fast internet.
- The benefits of faster broadband cannot be understated – helping businesses to move online, creating jobs, and levelling up homes and communities.
- That is why the government has been rolling out the £5 billion Project Gigabit – and in three years has increased the coverage of gigabit-capable broadband from seven per cent to 70 per cent, with more than 20 million households and businesses now able to tap into rapid and reliable internet.
- Better broadband work will mean those living in rural areas can enjoy 21st century speeds in the home and workplace, making their lives easier and more productive.
