Working to help people with energy bills
This week the Prime Minister hosted a roundtable with electricity generators, as we work with business to help people with rising energy prices.
- We all know that this will be a difficult winter for people across the UK, which is why the government is taking action to support people, especially the most vulnerable, and will continue to do so.
- Following the roundtable with electricity generators, the Prime Minister confirmed that the government will keep urging these businesses to continue working on ways we can ease the cost of living pressures, looking at further options to support families and to invest further and faster in British energy security.
- Support already being rolled out will exceed £37 billion of government support over the coming months, including the second £324 instalment of the cost of living payment for vulnerable households. More will be needed and more will be done.
