Removing the self-isolation requirement for the double-jabbed

This week it has been confirmed that from Monday 16 August, self-isolation will be removed for close contacts who are double jabbed or under 18 and have a negative PCR test, in a huge step forwards towards normality.

  • Self-isolation rules are playing a critical role in bringing the virus under control and saving lives, but the continued success of our vaccine rollout means we can now ease these restrictions.

  • That is why it has been confirmed that from Monday, those who are doubled jabbed and are a close contact of a positive Covid-19 case will no longer be required to self-isolate unless they themselves test positive – and to ensure young people can make the most of their education, under-18s will also be exempt from self-isolation.

  • The wall of defence provided by the extraordinary vaccine rollout is allowing us to get even closer to normal life, so we continue to urge everyone to come forward and get your jab when your turn comes.
