Tragedy in Plymouth

The Home Secretary expressed her shock at last night’s tragic incident in Plymouth, and offered the government's full support to the Devon and Cornwall Police and the other emergency services as they respond.

  • Our thoughts are with all those affected by the tragic and shocking incident in Plymouth, and the emergency services who are responding.

  • The Home Secretary has spoken to the Chief Constable of the Devon and Cornwall Police and offered her full support to the force as they respond to the incident. Police have confirmed this shocking incident was not terror-related.

  • We urge all those in the area to remain calm, follow police advice, and allow emergency services to get on with their jobs
  • I remember all too well from 2010 how difficult this sort of tragedy can be for a community to deal with. I hope that the media and everyone else will be respectful of the families involved and the rest of the community in Plymouth.
