Offshore Wind

Britain has a world-leading offshore wind manufacturing industry, and it has been announced that the industry will be creating and protecting more than 1,340 jobs in the Humber region – with help from a £260 million UK Government and private sector investment to help develop the next generation of wind turbines and build back greener.

  • Less than 100 days before the COP26 climate summit, the UK is playing a leading role in promoting offshore wind – so we can build back greener.

  • That is why government and private sector are coming together to invest more than £260 million to develop turbine manufacturing in the Humber region to support offshore wind farms – supporting clean power growth and creating and protecting over 1,340 jobs at firms like Siemens Gamesa and GRI Renewable Industries.

  • By investing in our green industries with initiatives like the Offshore Wind Manufacturing Investment Support Scheme the government is unlocking the potential for wind energy around the world and in the Humber - levelling up opportunity with green jobs across the UK.
