Trident vote on 18th July

David Cameron has announced during a NATO summit in Warsaw that the House of Commons will hold a vote on 18th July on the renewal of the Trident nuclear defence system.

He pointed out that Britain is the only major western country which has kept both the two promises almost all of them have signed up to - to spend 2% of GDP on defence and 0.7% of GDP on foreign aid,

Although Britain is leaving the EU, he said we have not turned our backs on our friends neighbours and allies and will remain a strongly engaged member of NATO.
