Quote of the day 2nd September 2015

"To the political law that you can’t fool all of the people all of the time he added Blair’s law – that you can make a very serious attempt at it."

(William Hague, on Tony Blair, in an article called "Tony Blair was a Tory leader's worst nightmare. I wish I'd had Jeremy Corbyn instead.")

He never really had me fooled, so although you can have a serious attempt at it, you still can't do it.

I was not really a fan before hand though I was proven correct and never did forgive him or he whom shall not be named for either the raid on pensions or the stand they took over the fuel crisis (remember that?)

well, it was really the fuel crisis that lead me to think there has to be a better way, and started me off on the long road towards direct democracy. Something that followed on and has been the case really since 1997. So I guess in a rather perverse sort of way, if it had not been for Blair and HWSNBN, then some parts of Harrogate may well be different.
